For renters
Borrow gear by the day, then go.
Browse verified local gear
Filter by category, dates, location, and price. See it on a map β gear closest to you shows first.
Book and pay securely
Pick your dates, click Reserve. Your card is charged through Stripe, but the money is held in escrow until the host confirms.
Coordinate pickup
Once confirmed, message your host directly to agree on a pickup spot and time. Pre-rental photos are uploaded by both sides.
Adventure
Use the gear. Treat it well. Return it on time.
Drop off and review
Post-rental photos are uploaded. If everything's good, your deposit is released within 48 hours.

Leave a review for your host. Reviews unlock only after both sides confirm β no fake ratings.

Common questions
What if the gear gets damaged?+
Cosmetic wear (Tier 1) is on the host β that's priced into the rental. Functional damage (Tier 2) is covered by the renter's deposit. Total loss or theft (Tier 3) is covered by our platform insurance up to $1,500 per incident.
Do I need to be ID-verified to rent?+
Yes. Every user β both renters and hosts β completes government ID + selfie verification through Persona before any transaction.
When do I get my deposit back?+
Within 48 hours of the gear being marked as returned in good condition. If there's a dispute, we mediate within 72 hours using the pre/post photos as primary evidence.
What's Grab It's role in a dispute?+
We act as mediator. We review the photos, messages, and timeline, then issue a decision. If either party rejects it, the case escalates to binding arbitration per our Terms of Service (AAA rules).
Can I cancel a booking?+
Yes β until 24 hours before the rental start, you can cancel for a full refund. After that, cancellation fees may apply. Hosts can cancel at any time with a full refund to the renter.
What if my host doesn't show up?+
Message them through Grab It. If they don't respond within 4 hours of the pickup time, contact support and we'll issue a full refund including the deposit.
